The Joint Integration Program provides a Joint Service approach to the research, development, testing,
and evaluation necessary for the optimization of the Services' Non-Lethal Capability Sets.
The Non-Lethal Capability Sets are "boxed sets" of mission-specific equipment designed to provide troops with
non-lethal counter-personnel and counter-materiel capabilities in missions ranging from humanitarian relief to combat operations.
The Non-Lethal Capability Sets include both commercial and government off-the-shelf non-lethal equipment and mission enhancers.
The mission-specific sets are configured for use in dismounted urban operations, mounted convoy operations, crowd control/dispersal scenarios,
and anti-terrorism force protection checkpoint operations. They can also be used to conduct on-site training in the use of non-lethal weapons.
Additionally, the Joint Integration Program offers a forum in which the Services can exchange lessons learned regarding the
employment of the non-lethal equipment contained in the Non-Lethal Capability Sets in both operational and training environments.
This forum includes biannual meetings and demonstrations of vendor items that are candidates for inclusion in the Non-Lethal Capability Sets.
