NAS Patuxent River Security Department held a graduation ceremony for the newest members of Pax River’s Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) May 18. The Sailors of ASF come from divisions and tenant commands around the installation to support the existing security force at Pax River. The course graduates underwent an intensive three-week training regimen including weapons qualifications, watch standing procedures, Level of Force familiarization, and oleoresin capsicum (OC) exposure. They learn many of the same skills that Masters-at-Arms learn in their rate training to provide physical security to the installation. Upon completion of the course the new ASF members join a regular watch standing rotation to help maintain the physical security of the base.
