U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Blake Cannon, a low altitude air defense gunner with 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Air Wing signs a pre-exposure medical form before volunteering to participate in a tactical demonstration (TACDEMO) of the Active Denial System during Weapons and Tactics Instructor course (WTI) 2-17 at Site 50, Wellton, Ariz., April 4, 2017. The Aviation Development, Tactics and Evaluation Department and Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) Science and Technology Departments conducted the TACDEMO to explore and expand existing capabilities. MAWTS-1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assist in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
