An Active Denial System from the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate is staged before conducting a counter personnel demo during Weapons and Tactics Instructor course (WTI) 2-17 at Site 50, Wellton, Ariz., April 4, 2017.  The Aviation Development, Tactics and Evaluation Department and Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) Science and Technology Departments conducted the tactical demonstration to explore and expand existing capabilities. MAWTS-1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assist in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
